The Khaya, which translates to 'home' in Zulu, is a boutique style coffee shop, gift store and gallery that regularly hosts exhibitions from local artists and students. They serve delicious light meals, along with homemade cakes and slices.
Established in 2011, owner and manager Yolanda Scholtz, holds a passion for culture, coffee and all things African. When initialising The Khaya concept, Yolanda wanted to create something unique and worldly in Cootamundra. She wanted to create an atmosphere that spoke another language to customers through African offerings. The African inspired design, food and culturally diverse artworks displayed in a gallery style around the premises, promise to take you on a truly enchanting journey.
